 Monday
Students will begin a Google Lit Trip by plotting points on Google Maps to research various prominent cities and countries for Number the Stars.
Students will read chapters 3 & 4.

Tuesday
Students will check out and recheck their library books.

Students will read chapter 5 of Number the Starsl.

Week of November 11

Monday
Students will newspaper articles and select the 1 headline that best describes the main idea of the article.

Tuesday
Students will check out and recheck their library books.
Students will make a parts of speech fold-able focusing on nouns today. We will add the other parts of speech in subsequent days to come. Students will write its definition, write a sentence using a noun/nouns from their own writing, and then they will copy a sentence from their book using nouns.

Wednesday
Early release

Students will finish working on their parts of speech foldable.

Thursday
Students will respond to their ePals pen pals.  Students will be able to detect adjectives in a passage.

Friday
Students will read a couple of nonfiction article at Tween Tribune and answer a critical thinking question.

We will discuss the mood of the play and the use of personification.

Week of Sept. 16

Monday

Students will connect with Edmodo and practice doing discussion posts.

We will also discuss our character sketch of each of the 3 dominant characters.

We will read chapters 3 – 5 of Dollhouse Murders.

Tuesday

The students will read chapters 6 – 9 of Dollhouse Murders while beginning their character sketch.

We will go to the library.

Wednesday

We will review the requirements of a complete sentence. We will do a Mimio lesson together.

We will read chapters 10 – 14 of Dollhouse Murders.

Thursday

We will read chapters 15 – 17.

As a class we will read and discuss the non-fiction Scope magazine together.

Friday

Students will take a test over vocabulary words from Dollhouse Murders.

I will teach the students how to devise higher-level questions for fishbowl discussion. I will show the students a video of a class utilizing this type of discussion.
