We will start on a punctuation packet on semicolons that will be due on Friday.  PBL – We will continue work in our groups, finishing the annotated bibliographies.

Tuesday

We will read chapters 9-10 of “Things Not Seen” . PBL – We will work in large groups with 8th grade for the second half of the period.

Wednesday

We will read chapters 11-12 of “Things Not Seen” . PBL – We will work in large groups with 8th for the second half of the period.

Thursday

We will read chapters 13-14 of “Things Not Seen” . PBL – We will meet in topic groups.

Friday

We will go over the homework packet from Monday.

Monday – Students will be introduced to irregular verbs. We will assign pages 448-457 to read and discuss. Students will be given workbook pages 135-139 to be turned in on Thursday. Students will also work on Digital Citizenship project.

 

Tuesday – Students will listen to chapters 1-4 of Things Not Seen. Students will work on project.

 

Wednesday – Students will answer comprehension questions for chapters 1-4. Students will work on project.

 

Thursday – Irregular verbs workbook pages are due today and will be reviewed in class. Students will work on project.

Students will finish work from Friday, grade it, and then complete a writing assignment in Study Sync.

Students will go to the library to check out or recheck books.  Students will work on book report projects that will be due on March 28.

Wednesday –

Students will complete passages from book that will practice reading skills.

Thursday –

Students will work on Study Island.  Students will read the lesson on historical content and answer 20 comprehension questions.

Students will be able to work on book report projects that will be due on March 28.

This week we will continue working on our expository paper.

Monday – Holiday

Tuesday – Students will match expository prompts with types of writing.

Wednesday – Students will begin brainstorming in order to write paper.

Friday – Students will continue writing paper and peer edit.

Students will wrap up the assignment in Study Island – drawing conclusions.

We will begin a discussion of Expository writing. We will discuss the different forms of writing from the Writing Academy. The Writing Academy Game Card

If you come to class today, catch up on your Monday’s assignment.

In your journal entry, you should tell me about the benchmark.

This class won’t be long, so you may begin Wednesday’s assignment.

Students will begin the analogies lesson.

Students will read the summary of analogies and write a summary. – make a document in Google Drive and share before the end of the period. Students will complete the analogies multiple choice questions.

Students will complete the revising and editing lesson. Students will begin the drawing conclusions lesson on Study Island with 20 questions.

Students will read “The Flying Machine” and “All Summer in a Day”. Students will then make connections and compare the two stories.

Tuesday

Students will go to the library and check out and recheck books.

Students will continue comparing the two stories from Monday.

Wednesday

This will be an early release day.

Students will be able to complete context clues on Study Island.

Thursday

Students will continue the lesson on context clues. Class will discuss analogies. Students will complete the lesson on Study Island.

Students will discuss personal narratives.
